Life Inspired Nutrition (LIN) is a weight inclusive, non-dieting nutrition private practice specializing in helping our clients heal their relationship with food, physical activity and body image. We serve individuals, couples, and families and we are an LGBTQ+ affirming practice. We work from an intuitive eating approach focused on the Health at Every Size (HAES) movement.
At LIN, we are here to offer the most comprehensive and effective care. We pride ourselves on establishing a safe, trusting, and healing environment based upon open communication.
The first session is all about getting to know you, your history, your current goals and your goals for working with a dietitian. Your dietitian will have already learned a lot about you based upon your intake paperwork so the first session is an opporunity to dive a litle deeper into your history and to begin the process of assessing how we can best support you.
Our dietitians at LIN provivde specialized and individualized nutrition care for each client, meaning that our recommendations are unique for each client. A meal plan may or may not be a part of your dietitian's recommendations for you. Whether or not you receive a meal plan, you can count on our recommendations always emphasizing sustainability and balance for you.
LIN does not accept insurance directly and is considered an out-of-network provider. All sessions are considered fee-for-service, where payment is due at the time of service. Certain insurance providers may cover nutrition counseling services, but many do not. Often a physician referral may help to obtain coverage, but LIN is not responsible for guaranteeing coverage. LIN can provide clients with a “superbill” listing your services for clients to submit to their insurance provider for possible reimbursement. If clients choose to submit an insurance claim, reimbursement will go directly to the client, as they will have already paid directly for their session. Client acknowledges it is their direct responsibility to know what their specific insurance plan covers, whether or not a referral or pre-authorization is required and if there are any limitations of coverage (number of allowed visits, covered diagnoses, etc).
The best place to start is by calling your insurance company. The following questions may help determine reimbursement eligibility:
1. Do I have out-of-network benefits to see a registered dietitian for the following CPT codes: initial session 97802 and follow-up sessions 97803?
2. If yes, what amount of the fee will you cover?
3. Is pre-authorization required in order to submit an out-of-network claim?
4. What is the deductible, and how much of the deductible have I met?
